ロバート・グラスパーがマイルス・デイビスに捧げるトリビュート作を発表

マイルス・デイビスの生誕90周年にあたる今年。それを記念したプロジェクトとして、ロバート・グラスパーがマイルス・デイビスの音を再構築したニューアルバム『Everything’s Beautiful』が、５月25日（水）に発売される。

ジャズ史上もっとも偉大なトランペッターのひとりであるマイルス・デイビス、新世代ジャズ・シーンを切り開いたロバート・グラスパーのダブル名義でリリースされる本作。アメリカのコロムビア・レコードのテープ保管庫に収められていたマイルスのオリジナル録音作品をグラスパーがセレクトし、それらをサンプリングしながら楽曲を制作。スティーヴィー・ワンダー、さらにはビラル、エリカ・バドゥ、ジョージア・アン・マルドロウ、イラ・J、ハイエイタス・カイヨーテといった次世代アーティストらも本作に参加。マイルスの音楽が、現ジャズ・シーンを牽引する新しい才能たちによって蘇る特別な作品に仕上がっている。

また、４月1日からアメリカで公開が始まるマイルス初の伝記映画『Miles Ahead』のサウンドトラックも４月27日（水）に発売。マイルスの代表曲をはじめ、劇中音楽を担当したグラスパーの新録５曲も収録されている。
